Two of the three gold medals were decided during the Lithgow Golf Club’s stroke event with the C grade medal to be played for next medal day in February.

The gold medal play offs were open to only those who had a won a monthly medal in their respective grade during 2017.
The scoring by the winners was exceptional in some tough conditions with the fairways struggling due to lack of rain and the hot weather.

The winner of the A grade medal was club captain Max Nightingale with a brilliant 66 nett. He adds the gold medal to a long list of impressive victories that includes a number of Club championships, world and Australian left handed victories and just about every major event on the local scene. The win is well deserved as Nightingale does a power of work for the club as captain and in other fields.

The B grade gold medal went to Brett Scanlon with a 69 nett. Scanlon has steadily cut his handicap down after returning to golf in recent years.

The C grade medal saw Greg Jackson and Dean Stafford tie with the superb scores of 64 nett, a score which would have both golfers think that they would have been clear winners. Both have been regular winners in C grade over the past month.

The gold medals were held in conjunction with the January monthly medals which were again sponsored by Ron Evans Painting.
