2019 Blue Mountains Interclub Bowl Pennant. On Monday 20th May, Lithgow played against Oberon in the Final of the 2019 Interclub Pennant competition on a glorious autumn day at Blackheath. The course was in immaculate condition, well done and congratulations to their Greenstaff. This was a back to back win for Lithgow having been successful in 2018.
Due to the withdrawal of Wentworth Falls during the competition, at the end of the rounds there were three clubs tied on match and individual points. According to the rules, a draw from the hat was done with Oberon going straight to the final and Lithgow playing Leura for the 2nd berth in the final. This match was also played at Blackheath on 6th May with Lithgow narrowly defeating Leura 3 matches to 2 and thus proceeding to the Final.
Result of the Final against Oberon was 4 matches to 1: Sue Brooks won 6/5 against Robyn Slattery, Lynne Ritchie won 5/3 against Robyn Stapleton, Olwyn King beat Katie Graham on the 19th, Di McGuire won 3/2 against Jenn Capel and Marie Hackett was beaten on the day by Flo Spence. The BM Bowl is a handicap match play event and over the competition the Lithgow team gave away a massive combined total of 140 handicap strokes. Members of the team were the above listed and Narelle Potts. Congratulations to the Team on a great effort.
