Results Week Ending 13th April 2025

After the pressures of the championships and last week’s stroke medal events a large field enjoyed a stableford on the Lithgow greens that are currently superb but very testing with their speed.

Three of Lithgow’s best all rounders who have excelled in a number of sports dominated their respective grades with the best score of the day coming out of C grade. This score belonged to Heidi Inwood (26) with 39 points and it was only a couple of weeks ago that she was again enjoying a win in C grade. Inwood set up her score with two consistent nines of 20 and 19 points with an excellent birdie on the 13th one of her highlights. Runner up was Brian Giblett (24) four shots back on 35 points.

Countbacks were needed to separate the winners and runners up in A and B grades with Geoff Thompson (7) counting out runner up Andrew Burton (36) to win the A grade voucher, Thompson should have been in good form considering that he has just returned from a golfing holiday in New Zealand playing some of the world’s best courses. It was a typical Thompson round which saw misses, pars, two birdies and an excellent eagle on the par 5 fifth with his and Burton’s rounds adding up to 36 points.

Josh Howarth (11) is a young player who has really come on since playing consistent Saturday golf. He finished with 37 with his birdie on the last hole being the difference in his countback win over Al Mostyn (10) with the pair finishing with scores of 37 points.
Vouchers went to those with 33 points and better and they were Ryan Gurney, Harry Bender, John Bird, Paul Bailey, Anthony Boza, Kobe Hunter, Adrian Sharp, Justin Nelson, Patrick Wall, Luke Brown, Dean Stafford, Les Goldspink, Ian Downey and Mitchell Wallace.
