The threat of showers held off for golfers to enjoy a good day of golf on Saturday with the event being a two ball multiplier and a single event held in conjunction.
The multiplier is a pressure event with both teammates having to score well. If one has a great score and the other has a miss it is no points for the team.
The golfer with the “hot hand” over the past couple of weeks Mark Seckold (22) struck again when he joined with Brian Judge (4) to amass the big score of 95 points. Seckold blitzed the back nine amassing 24 points as did Judge scoring 20 points.
Runners up on a countback was Dave Thompson (5) and Mitch Luka (8) with the two single markers combining well for a score of 85 points. Thompson had an excellent back nine registering a stroke score of two under par 34 which added up to 23 points.
The single event was won by Paul Bailey (18) scoring 40 points with Bailey playing consistent golf with two nines of 43. Runner up was Christine Peachman (25) with 39 points. Peachman was also consistent over her round with two nines of 47.
Vouchers cut out on 66 points and went to Greg Jackson, Michael Saville, Carol Burton, Geoff Wheeler, Greg Guest, Ross Harrington, Kim Burton, Leonie Hughes, Rob George,Brad Preston, Troy Luka, Nathan Marshall and Max and Justin McCann.
Nearest to the pins were: 2nd Troy Luka (158cms); 4th Blake Bender (222cms); 9th and 13th Justin McCann (125cms and (354cms) and 18th Greg Guest (178cms).
It was a busy week for golfers with the staging of the Foursomes championships with the title being won by Damien Marjoram and Steve Hall. The event was played over 27 holes with the champions struggling over first 18 shooting a round of 80 but combined well over the back nine with a score of 36 off the stick to secure the title with a score of 116. The scratch runners up Troy Luka and Dennis Wallace finish four shots back on 120.
The handicap winners were Chris Keller and Josh Jones with a nett score of 103. Runners up were Ian Downey and Don Wolfenden on 106.75 nett.
Nearest the pin on the ninth was Nathan Mitchell (112cms).
Next Saturday’s event will be the monthly medals.

The winner was Ian Townsend on 19 points.
Runner up Michael Bennett counted out third Placed Ken Durie with both golfers registering 18 points.
Vouchers went to Phillip Turner and Ron Phelan. Cut was 16 points.
Nearest to the pin on the ninth was Michael Bennett (44cms).
The 18 hole GA competition was won by Greg Guest with 42 points.
Runner up was Stephen Little on 36 points.
The Friday Central West Leak Detection and Plumbing nine holes competition:
Winner was Ken Durie on 23 points.
Runner up was Mark Seckold with 22 points with third place going to Trevor Cameron on 20 points.
Vouchers went to Wayne Morris and Geoff Thompson. Cut was 18 points ocb.
