While three quarters of the field stayed at home in the warmth, there was still 24 golfers that took on the terrible conditions at the Lithgow Golf Club on Saturday.
Due to the small field the proposed July Monthly Medals was changed to a single stableford with the medals to be played at a later date.
Those that did play had to contend with early morning showers, icy low temperatures, windy weather and a sodden course from the overnight rain. It was an outstanding round from Kobe Hunter (5) who took out first place with a score of 36 points and he was the only player on the day to play to his handicap.
Hunter had a good front nine of 38 which featured two birdies and then came home scoring 39 off the stick. Two points back was runner up Josh Jones (15) who had a front nine of 46 but steadied the ship scoring 42 off the to give him 34 points. He counted out Harry Bender (+1) who also carded 34 points with Bender playing superb golf over the front nine with a stick for a stableford score of 34.
