It was one of the best days weatherwise for sometime and golfers flocked to the Lithgow Golf Course to contest a two ball best ball.
The event is always popular and it took a countback to decide the winners with both teams finishing on 47 points.
Ken Durie (27) and Rob Peachman (15) took out the event after both returned good back nines especially Durie who scored 23 points while Peachman had 18 points.
The unlucky runners up also on 47 points were Dave Titcume (😎 and Rodney Clarke (19). Clarke was one of four who finishes with the best personal scores of the day.
The others were Dave Muir (24) who was the singles winner from runner up Steve Hall (scratch) who also registered 39 points.
Muir had a great back nine of 23 points which gave him the countback while Hall was unlucky after registering a score of three under 69. Marie Hackett (37) was the other golfer to amass 39 points.
Vouchers went to Carlos Garibotto, Luke Bennett, James Bennett, Kyle Egan, Pat Wall, Brian Judge, Paul Stewart, John Bird, Marie Hackett, Julie Murnane, Harry Bender, Lachlan Roach, Blake Goldspink, Mitchell Wallace, Cameron Fortune, Anthony Oldfield, Leo Murnane and Don Wolfenden. The cut was teams with 43 points.
Nearest to the pins were: 2nd Paul Stewart (202cms); 4th Mitchell Luka (108cms); 9th Luke Brown (282cms); 13th James Bennett (129cms) and 18th Ian Downey (380 cms).
Next Saturday’s event will be the monthly medals.
Wednesday Sparks Finance Competitions:
Best 9 Hole Comp – Winner was Rick Cohen on 19 points. Runner up was Greg Guest on a countback from Steve McCann with both carding 18 points. Vouchers went to Les Barnes and Steve Jennings. Cut was 17 points ocb. Nearest to the pin was Juan Farmer on the ninth (370cms).
GA Comp winner was Al Mostyn.
Friday Central West Leak Detection nine hole competition:
Winner was Craig Pugsley on 20 points counting out runner up Al Glendinning with third place going to Michael Saville on 19 ocb.
Vouchers went to Blake Goldspink and Craig Holt.
