It was girls day out for the Lithgow Golf Club’s 4BBB event when the females dominated the placings on a day when the greens were getting back to their best and the sun shone brightly.
With the extra ‘run’ on the fairways the higher handicappers have come into their own with some big scores being recorded.
It was a special day for Johanna Staines (42) when she joined with partner Julie Rosewarne (34) to win her first ever Saturday competition. Staines was the star of the win carding a personal score of 44 points while the win continues Rosewarne’s run of recent wins.
The girls combined to post a winning score of 51 points.
Another female team of Christine Peachman (25) and Carol Burton ((32) finished only one point behind the winners with a score of 50 points. Burton was on fire scoring 43 points personal points while Peachman also played well with her 36 points.
A single event was held in conjunction and was won by Brodie Carter (16) with the brilliant score of 45 points. Runner up was won by one of the club’s senior golfers with Ken Durie (26) scoring 43 points.
Vouchers went to to those teams with 46 points and better and they were Jarryd Clark, Riley Cameron, Kim Burton, Julie Murnane, Carlos Garibotto, Rod Clarke, Warren Kennedy, Max Nightingale, James Bennett, Leo Murnane, Leonie Hughes, Carol Osborne, Lachlan Roach and Ian Downey.
Nearest to the pins were: 2nd Graeme Osborne (96cms); 4th Corey Osborne (116cms); 9th Don Wolfenden (208cms) 13th Dave Warren (252cms) and 18th Al Mostyn (10cms).
Next Saturday’s event will be a two ball multiplier.
Results on Monday’s Vets competition: the winner with a score of 43 points was Dave Hicks. Runner up on 40 points was Leo Murnane who secured the Workies Voucher and in third place was Alan Mostyn with 39 points.
Vouchers went to Jim Heterick, Greg Guest and Rob Peachman. Vouchers cut out on 37 points ocb.
Nearest to the pins went to Steve Little and Alan Mostyn.
Wednesday Sparks Finance nine hole competition:
Winner was Greg Guest with a score of 20 points.
Runner up was Brett Egan who counted out third placed Jeff Geddes with both finishing with 19 points.
Vouchers went to Mark Seckold and Les Barnes. Cut was 18 points ocb. Nearest to the pins were Dave Thompson (9th) and Mark Seckold (18th).
Friday Central West Leak Detection nine hole competition:
Winner was Robert Arnott with 25 points.
Runner up was Todd Walsh with 20 points counting out third placed Dave Thompson.
Vouchers went to Mitchell Wallace, Trent Young, Chris Keller and Harry Bender. Cut was 19 points ocb.
Nearest to the pin on the ninth was Harry Bender.
