After a couple of weeks of pressure golf due to playing the Lithgow Golf Club Open, Short Course Championship and monthly medals it was a more relaxed atmosphere when another big field contested a single stableford.
The course was still in tip top condition following the Open and there was 11 golfers who played to their handicap or below it.
Once again A grade winner Darren Hunter (1) showed what a class golfer he is returning a score of 39 points and playing consistent golf throughout that saw him register 35 off the stick on both nines. Runner up was another former club champion with Harry Bender (scr) registering 37 points that featured two birdies and an eagle.
The B grade winner on 38 points was Lachlan Roach (11). It was another consistent round with Roach posting nines of 40 and 41.
Runner up on 37 points ocb was Scott Achurch (11) who is continuing to regain some of the form that he showed before leaving the game for a number of years.
Neil Hutchinson joined Darren Hunter to enjoy the top scores of the day and set up his good round on the front nine posting 21 points.
Runner up was Jim Heterick (24) on 37 points.
Vouchers went to Kim Flynn, Paul Bosman, Steve Hall, Chris Keller, Graeme Osborne, Pat Wall, Riley Cameron, Carlos Garibotto, David Warren, Trent Young, Leonie Hughes, Kyle Egan, Carol Burton, Geoff Thompson, Davis Hicks, Blake Goldspink, Steve Mays and Geoff Wheeler.
Nearest to the pins were: 2nd Rob Hawes (92cms); 4th Leonie Hughes (90cms); 9th Steve Hall (103cms); 13th Geoff Thompson (138cms) and 18th Jim Heterick (85cms).
It’s back to the big events for the Lithgow Summer Cup (Saturday, December 20) which will be sponsored by Blayney Foods.
The Lithgow Vets competition will again be held on Monday, December 22.
Wednesday Sparks Finance – Mortgage Broker Lithgow nine hole competition:
Winner on 23 was Warren Kennedy with a score of 23 points.
Runner up was Robert Arnott on 22 points with third place going to Greg Guest on 19 points.
Vouchers went to Jeff Geddes and Steve Jennings. cut was 18 points ocb.
Nearest to the pins were: 9th Steve Jennings (740cms) and 18th Ken Durie (384cms).The Wednesday GA 18 hole competition was won by Dave Thompson with 35 points counting out runner up Carlos Garibotto.
Friday Central West Leak Detection and Plumbing nine hole competition:
Winner with a score of 23 points was Brian Judge. Runner up was Don Farnsworth with 20 points counting out third placed Chris Goodsell. Vouchers went to Jeff Geddes and Chris Keller.
Nearest to the pin on the ninth was Michael Saville (472cms).
