A large field of 75 Lithgow golfers enjoyed near perfect weather, especially the girls who had six players registering scores ranging from 37 to 43 points to dominate C grade.
It was Kim Burton (25) who topped the big field with the best score of the day with her 43 points. Burton played consistent golf to register nines of 22 and 21 points. Hot on the heels was the inform Deanna Goodsell (24) who took out the runner voucher with a super back nine of 23 points which counted out Carol Burton who also carded 42 points. Other women to standout in C grade were Julie Murnane on 41 points, Christine Peachman 40 and Johanna Staines 37 points.
Michael Saville (9) was all class to win A grade scoring nines of 19 and 21 points. Runner up Dave Marshall (😎 also registered a good back nine of 21 points in his score of 38 points.
Geoff Wheeler (18) took out B grade scoring 41 points, three better than runner up Jason Murray (11) on 38 points.
Vouchers went to Carol Burton, Julie Murnane, Christine Peachman, Blake Bender, Troy Luka, Rob Peachman, Dave Titcume, Johanna Staines, Riley Cameron, Darren Hunter, Greg Bright, Harry Bender, Ben Fraser, Leo Murnane, John Bird, Greg Jackson, Corey Osborne and Zac Jones. Cut was 35 points on a countback.
Nearest to the pins were: 2nd hole Steve Hall (90cms); 4th Ian Downey (7cms) (unlucky); 9th Blake Bender (98cms); 13th Les Goldspink (258cms) and 18th Michael Saville (113cms).
The holiday ambrose events are gaining in popularity with another good field contesting the Anzac 2 Person Ambrose.
The ambrose events have seen family members make up teams with husbands and wives, fathers and mothers with their children and other family members.
Winners was the team of Anthony and Luke Oldfield with a score of 59.25 nett. Runners up were Brett Nightingale and wife Laura on 59.50 nett with third place grinding to Brett Scanlon and Kel Lampton on 61.25 nett.
Nearest to the pins were Riley Cameron and Anthony Oldfield.
Vouchers went to those with 67.25 nett and better.
The Sparks Finance – Mortgage Broker Lithgow Wednesday competitions:
Winner was Rob George with a score of 21 points.
Runner up was Mark Willmott on 20 and in third spot was Ross King with 19 ocb.
Vouchers went to Michael Casey and David May. Cut was 17 points.
Nearest to the pins were Chris Goodsell and Juan Farmer.
The GA 18 hole competition was won by Sam McAndrew with a score of 36. Michael Bennett was runner up on 25 points.
The Friday Central West Leak Detection and Plumbing 9 hole competition:
Winner was Aaron Manson with 24 points on a countback from runner up Kim Burton.
Darren Hunter was third with 21 points.
Vouchers went to Brian Giblett, Trevor Cameron, Blake Goldspink and Michael Bennett. Cut was 19 points ocb.
Nearest to the pin was Don Farnsworth.
Saturday’s event will be a two ball aggregate stroke.
