It was a typical Lithgow day for the club’s two ball aggregate event with half of the big field freezing in zero temperatures and icy breezes while those players who teed off after 10 am were greeted with a magnificent winter’s sunny round.
Amazingly the winners were two of the lowest handicapped golfers in the club hitting off among the early birds on a course that was more like a big fridge freezer. They were Damien Marjoram (1) and Harry Bender (+1) who combined for a score of 70 points again showing their skill and experience. Bender is the current club champion while Marjoram is also a past championship winner with the pair registering seven birdies and an eagle between them. Marjoram had nines of 37 and 36 strokes while Bender carded a 38 and a brilliant 34 on his back nine.
The runners up on a countback were also single markers with Josh Howard (7) and Ryan Gurney (9) taking out the vouchers.
A single event was held in conjunction and won by young Riley Cameron (15) with a score of 37 points after surviving a countback from Dean Webb.
