The April monthly medals sponsored by Henry’s Plant and Equipment Hire at the Lithgow Golf Club was well supported with one of the club’s juniors taking the spotlight with the best nett score of the day.
Young Jai Osborne (25) has been making the most of the school holidays spending a lot of time on the fairways and it paid off when he posted the best score of the day with an excellent 62 nett. His score was all the more impressive considering that the course was playing at its longest, the pins were placed in testing positions and the greens were extremely quick. He was a clear winner in C grade finishing 12 stroke ahead of his nearest opposition and secured his first monthly medal and judging by his early form in his career it will not be his last. Runner up Dave Muir (23) who survived a countback when finished with 74 nett.
Darren Hunter (scratch) continues to show he is in the top group of golfers in the club and posted six birdies on his way to a 68 nett.
Hunter also took out the A grade medal. Runner up was Damien Marjoram (1) with a 70 nett but the big news for him was his hole in one on the ninth hole. The ‘ace’ adds to his other two and adds to his good year to date for the former club champion and gold medal winner.
The B grade voucher was decided by a countback with Jeff Geddes (15) edging out Jason Murray (14) after both golfers finished on 71 nett. Geddes and Murray will play off for the medal in conjunction with next month’s medal round.
