It was a big field who turned out for the Lithgow Golf Club Monthly Medals and with the greens having recently been cored it was expected that golfers would struggle on the sandy greens that saw some slow and other very fast. But this was not the case for 22 golfers who played under their handicap with the Harry Bender (scratch) putting together an outstanding round that saw him take out the A grade voucher with a score of 67 nett. He really shone on the tough sandy greens posting one eagle and five birdies in his five under round. Chris Keller (😎 was an unlucky runner up having been counted out by Bender after he too registered a 67 nett but it was Bender who had the better back nine.Best scratch score went to Darren Hunter (2) with a one under par 71.
The best nett score of the day came out of C grade with Julie Rosewarne (35) continuing her amazing run of form.
She again made light work of her handicap coming in with a nett score of 65 nett and judging by her consistent scoring each week she hasn’t finished cutting her handicap down. Runner up was Stephen Jennings (30) who finished with 65 nett, a score that would usually be good enough for a win, but he would have been more than happy with his round. Best scratch score went to Jai Osborne (22) with a score of 92.
The October medals went to Corey Osborne (B), Stephen Jennings (C) and due to the tie in A grade, the medals will be played off next month between Bender and Keller.
