It was a good win for the Brown boys with Luke and father Anthony combining to take out the Lithgow Golf Club’s two person best ball par event. It was a good field considering the early rain would have scared many away, especially the early morning golfers who had to suffer intermittent rains right up until 9am.
The Browns were late starters enjoying the best of the conditions with the star of the team Luke (24) getting away to a great start for the team scoring five pluses in the first six holes and then Anthony (18) came to life to add another three to finish the front nine with a great score of +8. The pair cooled off over the back nine adding only one more plus to finish their round with +9.
Although they limped home their score of +9 was two better than runners up Brodie Carter (9) and Riley Cameron (15). Both golfers failed to play to their handicap but combined well for their +7 score.
A single event was held in conjunction and it was Riley Cameron’s Dad Travis (5) that took the honours with a score of +2 making it a good day for the family. Runner up was Damien Marjoram (1) on +1 on a countback with his score excellent considering he was one the early players who had to contend with the rain.
