The bad weather held off during the Lithgow club’s June monthly medals which was again sponsored by Henry Plant & Equipment Hire Pty Ltd with the event attracting a very big field of close to 80 players.
The medal winners in A, B and C grade sequence were Lachlan Roach, Graham Dean and Luke Brown.
The best nett score of the day came out of C grade when Kim Flynn (22) turned in a magnificent 67 nett giving her the winning voucher.
She started her round in the best of ways posting an excellent birdie on the first hole and then continued her good round with some booming drives a feature, especially on the back nine. Runner up to Flynn was young Luke Brown (24) with a score of 70 nett thanks to a very good front nine that set up his score.
Best scratch score went to Mark Seckold (21) with a score of 95.
The second best nett score of the day went to Graham Dean (11) who took out B grade with a score of 69 nett. His win made it back to back wins for him having also triumphed last Saturday and he continued his good form with some consistent golf. Runner up on 73 nett was Ross Harrington (10) who had a front nine to forget but then flicked the switch on the back nine coming home in 37 off the stick. Best B grade scratch score went to big time player Steve Mays (11) with 85 off the stick.
A grade went to Lachlan Roach (9) with a score of 72 nett that featured a very good back nine. Greg Jackson (6) survived a three way countback to secure second place with a score of 73 nett.
Best scratch score went to Blackheath’s Bill Oldfield (scratch) with 74.
Vouchers went to Brian Judge, Cameron Hann, Damien Marjoram, Dave Hicks, Lleyton Guest, Max Nightingale, Blake Bender, Anthony Brown, Jeff Geddes and Justin Nelson. Cut was 75 nett ocb.
Nearest to the pins were: 2nd Corey Osborne 220 cms; 4th Bill Oldfield (786cms); 9th Mitchell Wallace (67cms); 13th Chris Keller (380cms) and 18th Harry Bender (415cms).

The nine hole competition was won by Heath Eagan with a score of 21 points. Runner up on 17 points was Jonathan Van Veen who counted out Wayne Morris into third place again on a countback.
Vouchers went to Chris Casey and Rob George. Cut was 16 points ocb.
The GA 18 hole winner was David Thompson with an excellent 41 points. Six points back on 35 points was Mitchell Wallace on 35 points and in third place was Lleyton Guest on 34 points.
The Central West Leak Detection and Plumbing nine hole competition went to Andrew Griffiths after a three way countback.
Others on 19 points were runner up Don Farnsworth and in third place was Evan Carter.
Vouchers went to Craig Holt and Ashton Hunter. Cut was 17 points ocb
