It was another huge golf field who contested a single stableford event that started the morning with a heavy frost that made the greens rock hard but as the day progressed the weather improved into a beautiful winters day. Fourteen golfers played to their handicap or broke it showing the difficulty of the course that offered no run and tough quick greens.
The conditions did not worry Young Cameron Hann (23) who has been in some good form of late and he recorded the best stableford score of the day with 39 points. Hann started his day in style scoring 21 points over the front nine and then came home with an impressive 18 points to win C grade. Runner up on 38 points was Krystan Griffiths (39) who is a newcomer to Saturday competition and has been up around the placings each week.
A grade saw a countback to decide the winner with the winning voucher going to Ryan Gurney (9) who finished with 37 points.
His strong back nine of 21 points gave him the victory over runner up Michael Marshall (4) from the Kew CC near Port Macquarie who also carded 37 points. Marshall was a former long term Lithgow member and after he finished grizzling about how cold the frosty morning was in Lithgow played some good golf.
The winner of B grade was Steve May (10) with a score of 38 points with his ‘on again off again’ love affair with his putter proving a winning weapon on the day. Mays had an excellent back nine coming home with a big score of 21 points.
Runner up was Graeme Osborne (18) with a score 37 points.

Cut was 32 points.
Nearest to the pins were: 2nd Michael Bennett (221); 4th Lachlan Roach (296cms); 9th Warren Stevens (68cms); 13th Evan Carter (200cms) and 18th Chris Keller (81cms).
Monday Lithgow Workies Club & Motel was won by Dave Titcume with a score of 39 points on a countback from runner up Rod Clarke,
In third place was the inform Olwyn King on 37 points.
Vouchers went to Ted Healey, Lleyton Guest and Rob Hawes. Cut was 33 points ocb.
Nearest to the pin was Brett Egan.
The Sparks Finance – Mortgage Broker Lithgow nine hole competition was won by Jeff Geddes with a score of 21 points.
Runner up was Ross King on 20 points.
Vouchers went to Wayne Morris and Greg Guest.
Morris also won the nearest to the pin.
The GA 18 hole event was won by Peter Dykes on 34 points with Darren Healey on 33 points runner up.
The Central West Leak Detection and Plumbing Friday competition was won by Mark Willmott on 21 points.
Runner up was Chris Goodsell on 20 points and Paul Stewart was third with 18 points.
