Once the fog lifted it was a near perfect day with another big field contesting Saturday’s two ball best ball with a single stableford event held in conjunction. The two ball is all about combining and this was shown with both winners not playing to their handicap but still working together for the win. Steve Jennings (21) and Neil Hutchinson (18) combined to perfection with Jennings scoring 33 personal points while Hutchinson chipped in with 31 points combining for a winning score of 46 points. Runners up on 45 points were the team of Paul Stewart (15) and playing his first Saturday competition Craig Holt (18). Stewart was the main scorer with 36 personal points and one of only seven players to play or break their handicap on the day.
Heidi Inwood who has been in winning form over the past month continued her ‘purple patch’ to come in with the best stableford score of the day to take out the singles competition. Next best score of the day went to runner up Jeff Geddes with 37 points.
Those to win vouchers were Evan Carter, Aaron Manton, Carol Burton, Julie Rosewarne, Blake Bender, Harry Bender, Chris Goodsell, Steve Mays, Dave Titcume, Ken Mitchell, Peter Dykes, Geoff Wheeler, Tom Fraser, Riley Gillespie, Zac Jones and Damien Marjoram. The cut was 42 points ocb.
Nearest to the pins were: 2nd Tom Fraser (200cms); 4th Carol Burton (210cms); 9th Shannon Johns (211cms); 13th Dave Titcume (111cms) and 18th Max Nightingale (160cms).
Next Saturday’s event will be a single stableford.
The Monday Lithgow Workies Club & Motel 18 hole competition:
The winner of the $40 Workies voucher was Ted Healey but knowing Ted he will need more than $40 to feed himself. He was extremely happy to edge out his son Darren on the last hole with Ted finishing with 39 points to Darren’s 38 points. In third place was Ian Downey on 37 points.
Vouchers went to Dave Titcume, Greg Guest, Julie Rosewarne, Rob Peachman and Julie Murnane. Cut was 35 points ocb.
Wednesday Sparks Finance – Mortgage Broker Lithgow nine hole competition:
Winner was Blake Goldspink with 22 points.
Runner up was Craig Pugsley on 20 points.
Vouchers went to Craig Holt, Steve Jennings and Mark Willmott. Cut was 16 points on a countback.
Nearest to the pins were Brian Quick and Ken Durie.
The GA 18 hole competition was won by Paul Bailey on 17 points and runner up on Max Nightingale on 36 points.
The Friday Central West Leak Detection and Plumbing nine hole competition:
Winner with the big score of 23 points was Corey Osborne who also won the nearest to the pin.
Runner up was Lleyton Guest with 22 points on a countback from third placed Paul Stewart.
Vouchers went to Craig Pugsley and Ashton Hunter. Cut was 16 points ocb.
