The good thing about the women’s golf competitions is that there is a number of new names taking part each week. The new players usually start off generous handicaps and are all keen to start reducing them. There is no pressure to play and the more experienced players are there to offer help and tips making for a fun day with the added bonus being the exercise gained from the competitions.
The winner of the Wednesday stroke competition (September 9) was Colleen McMahon (45) with a score of 69 nett. She is one of the big improvers and continues to cut her handicap down. Those to figure in the ball competition were Robyn Houlison and Christine Peachman. The cut was 72 nett.
Robyn Houlison continued her good form through to Friday’s nine hole competition and a big welcome was extended to the new players. Houlison (45) had a good day out amassing a total of 18 points.
