Once again a big thank you goes out to Henry Plant & Equipment Hire Pty Ltd for their continued sponsorship of the monthly medals with the September medals producing a host of good scores. The grade medals in A, B and C sequence went to Mitchell Wallace, Greg Guest and Craig Holt. A grade winner was Mitchell Wallace (5) with a score of 68 nett with the talented golfer finishing with four birdies and an eagle on the par five 15th.
Runner up was Troy Luka (2) who finished one behind Wallace on 69 nett and he too got among the birdies registering five on his way to a 71 off the stick. The best scratch score of 71 went to one of the most consistent golfers in the club Steve Hall (1) and enjoyed a blistering front nine consisting of four birdies and an eagle on the par four 8th. The B grade voucher saw a battle between Greg (12) and son Lleyton Guest (12) and it was the “old guy” Greg that reigned supreme to be the best Guest on the day scoring a 68 nett while son Lleyton was two strokes back on 70 nett.
Rob Arnott (10) took out the best scratch score with a 83. The C grade winner was Craig Holt (20) who has won back to back weeks in his first three competition starts. He finished with a score of 69 nett which was a top effort after a poor start to his round.
In second place on 70 nett was Cameron Hann (21) with the promising young golfer enjoying a good start to his round with a 43 on his front nine. Best scratch score went to Ken Durie (21) with a score of 92.
Vouchers went to Rod Bright, Anthony Oldfield, Rod Clarke, Evan Carter and Chris Keller. Cut was 71 nett ocb.
Nearest to the pin went to: 2nd Andrew Burton (99cms); 4th Ken Durie (308cms); 9th Les Goldspink (198cm);13th Peter Dykes (245cms) and 18th Max Nightingale (236cms).
